Here is why I would NEVER EVER store my food in plastic containers

BPA FREE

I spend a lot of my time researching and find out the information that you really do need to know about. No no nonsense here guys so let me get straight to the point.

How many years have been using plastic within our households, from our parents to our own.

What our parents or guardians used in the home often reflect on what we use as well. Unfortunately back in the past there has been little information made available to us when it comes to how we should store our left over food. Earl Tupper came up with the all famous Tupperware back in 1946 and by the 1950’s house wives would throw Tupperware parties to earn a little bit of pocket money.

Little did we know back then that the polycarbonate plastic containers we used all the time contained BPA Bisphenol A which is an industrial chemical that were used to harden plastic in Food/ Drink and pretty much anything plastic since the late 40’s/50’s. it is also used in Epoxy Resins which are used to coat the inside of metal products, such as food cans, bottle tops and water supply lines. Some dental sealants and composites also may contain BPA.

It’s pretty much everywhere we look. We cant do a lot about that but we can definitely kick ass when it comes to storing our own food and drink.

According to the Mayo Clinic Some research has shown that BPA can seep into food or beverages from containers that are made with BPA. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of the possible health effects on the brain and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children. It can also affect children's behavior. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

These chemicals are known to mimic our hormones and can then play absolute havoc with our already fluctuating hormones. So the best we can all do for our health and of course our hormones is to start storing your food and drink in either Glass or BPA free plastic storage containers.

It really is important for all of us to do even if your not going through Peri/Menopause. For all of you out there that needs to store their left over food and drink do it this way for your health. PLus the bonus if makes your fridge look very stylish. Here is mine although when this photo was taken I was in need of a food shop.

Would love you to share your fridges too leave us a picture in the comments section.
